Michael Jordan’s top ten clutch shots in the NBA
If you could choose any clutch player for your basketball team, one that could nail a shot at the buzzer, more than likely 99% of you out there would choose the all-time great, Michael Jordan. During his career, Jordan took 18 game winning shots during the playoffs alone, showing the NBA world how dominant he truly is. Out of those 18 game winning shots in the playoffs, some were made, while some were missed (no player is perfect). Let’s relive the memories and take a look at ten of his best clutch shots of his career:
#1 1998 Vs. Utah: This shot was one that would be Jordan’s last clutch shot during a playoff series. While he didn’t know it at the time, this shot was made with 5 seconds left, giving Chicago their third consecutive title and their sixth out of the last eight seasons at the time. This is the one shot that most NBA fans won’t forget.
#2 1989 Vs. Cleveland: Its was game 5 back in May of 1989 when Jordan made a shot at the very end of regulation. This was the start of his era, when the Bulls went on to the playoffs ten years and row after. Considered to be one of his best clutch shots of his career, Jordan was able to send Chicago past the first round, despite being winless against Cleveland during the season.
#3 1997 Vs. Utah: Game one of the playoffs, Jordan hits a buzzer beater right at the end of … Read more »

Deep into what would turn out to be an epic seven game series, both the Detroit Pistons and the Los Angeles Lakers had gotten to know each other well. No love was lost between the two teams, which represented polar opposites on the diverse landscape of professional basketball in the 1980s. The Lakers were the perfect team to represent a city devoted to glamour and glitz, led by the flashy yet incredibly effective Magic Johnson and a fleet of large, talented bodies.
The Pistons were the quintessential blue-collar team, complete with a roster that brought a lunch pail and a hard hat to work, much like the majority of the citizens of Detroit. Led by Thomas, the team felt in their cold hearts that they could beat any team on any given night. If an abundance of scoring didn’t do the trick, flying fists and elbows were waiting to strike on a moments notice. Indeed, the Pistons were willing to win at any cost.
Never was this concept more evident than in the grit and determination of Thomas. The Pistons went into Game Six with a 3-2 lead in the series, but they knew getting the elusive final victory would be a difficult thing to do on the Lakers home court. The Lakers led by eight points in a highly competitive … Read more »
